The all-male dance company Compagnie Hervé Koubi presents “What the Day Owes to the Night” at 7:30 p.m. March 28 at the University of Hawaii at Hilo Performing Arts Center.

Choreographer Hervé Koubi grew up in France and graduated from the world-renowned Rosella Hightower School of Dance in Cannes. He gained professional experience as a dancer with the Opera de Marseille.

Since then, he has developed numerous contemporary dance projects in collaboration with various artists, writers, choreographers and musicians from around the world.

“What the Day Owes to the Night” is a 12-man mash-up of hip-hop, Brazilian martial arts, street performance and contemporary dance inspired by Koubi’s own personal journey and discovery of his Algerian heritage.

Tickets are reserved seating and priced at $30 general, $25 discount and $15 UH-Hilo/Hawaii Community College students (with a valid student ID) and children 17 and younger. pre-sale, and $35, $30 and $20 at the door.
